An Egyptian actor, director and academic. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema, and then received a scholarship in the Soviet Union, through which he obtained a doctorate in directing. He began his artistic career through radio, before moving to work in cinema and television. He's best known for his roles in Falling Far from the Tree, Umm Kulthum and The Twins.
