The Egyptian dentist and writer Alaa Al-Aswany, graduated from the Lycée French High School in Egypt, obtained a master’s degree in dentistry in Chicago from the University of Illinois. He was known for his short story and novel writings. Al-Aswany worked in Al-Araby newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Arab Democratic Nasserist Party, with a monthly article. He also wrote a weekly article in Al-Dustour newspaper for a while.
