Egyptian actress Sherifa Mahear was born in 1932 in Helwan, Cairo. She graduated from a French school and was discovered by the prominent Egyptian singer and musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab, who signed her on for a three year contract. She went on to work in cinema, appearing as both a singer and an actress. Maher is best known for playing the role of the bossy woman and for her roles in the films: Pity my Tears, My Wife’s Dignity, Dearest Beloveds, and Destiny.
