He previously held several management positions in the artistic field. He was one of the first directors to present their work at the...Read more Cinema Organization, and his first film was titled Flower of the City (1965). He also made a number of documentaries. He is one of the most prolific Syrian directors, as his feature films has reached nineteen. He was honored at the 13th Damascus Film Festival. He was married to actress Mona Wassef, and passed away in 2004.
