An Egyptian singer, composer, songwriter and actor. He debuted in the early thirties. He appeared in many Egyptian films as a Upper Egyptian actor and singer. He also wrote some of the lyrics of the songs he sang or composed. He also set the tunes for many films. He composed the song" Thanks to our Dearest", which Sabah sang in the movie Ataba Square (1959). He composed "The Greengrocer" song for the movie Give Me Your Mind (1952). He is the singer in the movie The Wedding Night (1950).
