A playwright and scriptwriter, who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and worked as an ophthalmologist. Among his most famous plays are The Enemy in the Bedroom, and Zero Hour. He also wrote television series, such as AlZeer Salem, for which he was awarded the Supreme Council of Culture's prize for screenwriting in 1981. He also wrote The Tortured in the Land, and Flowers Do Not Die, in addition to radio specials, including Who Is Laughs at Whom? He wrote three films, including The Vandals. He was also a poet, literary and theatrical critic, and political writer.
