Egyptian musician and composer born in Shubra, Cairo, in 1931. He has loved music and played oud ever since he was eight years old. He studied music at Abdel Hafiz Imam's oriental music school. He then joined the Faculty of Law which had many musical extracurricular activities. He worked with many big names such as Mohamed Fawzy and the Saa Le Qalbak Group. He then had his breakthrough as a composer and became one of Egypt's finest. He has composed the score of various works, including the films A Touch of Fear, Streets of Fire, Life Is a Moment, and the TV series The Night of Fatma's Arrest, and Al-Halawany Gate. He died in 1993.
