Famously known by his penname "Mickey Mouse", he his an Egyptian art historian and a satire writer born on 10 October 1919 in Bab El Shaareya in Cairo. He worked as a journalist for many publications such as Al Gomhoureya and Al Masaa. He was called Mickey Mouse in 1938 and it stuck with him till the day he died. He wrote songs for several singers like Mohamed Kandeil and Sherifa Fadel. He also wrote hundreds of screenplays for the Egyptian radio as well as many films. He wrote over 30 books about celebrities and the ins and outs of the film industry in Egypt. He also presented a TV programme called "Stars with a History" in which he talks about the stories of Egyptian and Arab artists. He was known for his sense of humor and for being very humble and courteous.
