He is an Egyptian actor and the brother of Hassan Youssef. He worked as an actor at the beginning of his life, then worked as a screenwriter. He also worked as an assistant director for many films, especially with his brother Hassan Youssef, such as in A Boy, a Girl and the Devil (1971), and Enough My Heart (1977). He worked as an assistant director in the movie Killer Who killed No One (1979), and worked as a director for many films, including Uncle Qandil's Scissors. He retired from art in the nineties.
