An Iraqi actor who was born in Baghdad in 1935. He graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1957, the Department of Music. He entered radio and television in the early sixties as a singer and composer. He was known for his quiet, beautiful voice and graceful style...Read more of performance. In the sixties, he participated in several cinematic films, most notabl the musical movie The Path of Love (1966). He presented a beautiful group of songs with Madiha Wagdy. He devoted himself to composing around the mid-seventies and presented a group of immortal songs, such as I Asked About You by Maeda Nazhat. He composed the score for the poem The Palm, which was his last work. He is known for the song “I Will Die If I Don't See you, Iraq”. He became known for discover of talents as he helped in the emergence of most artists by preparing his famous program. He immigrated from Iraq to Egypt in 2003 and is still residing in Cairo. He finished writing his memoirs for half a century in a book called The Names Tunnel, in which he met with the leaders of Iraq and with the most famous artists, such as Muhammad Abdul-Wahhab, Muhammad al-Muji, Nazim al-Ghazali, Sediqah al-Malayah, and Khudairi Abu Aziz.
