Abdel Ghani El Nagdi is an Egyptian actor, screenwriter and composer who left a clear and powerful imprint on Egyptian cinema. El Nagdi assumed many roles, but he became famous for playing a bawab, a servant, and an idiotic soldier, and eventually his jokes were sold to the great comedic stars of his days like Imsail Yassin and Shokoko. Some of his greatest works are “el Attaba el Khadra” (Ataba Square) and “El Fanous el Sahry” (The Magic Lantern).
