An Egyptian poet, born in Cairo in 1956. He excelled in composing poetry in the Egyptian dialect. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts: Department of English, and then obtained a MA in English and Comparative Literature from the American University in Cairo. He traveled to the United States to complete his research before obtaining his MA. Bahaa issued a number of collections, including: Dance in Traffic Jam (1986), and The Haunted Shirt (1990). He wrote the lyrics of songs from films, series and plays, including Keep Calm and Listen (1991), Bahlool in Istanbul (1995), and the charades The Good Neighbors (1997).
