He was born in Al-Salhiya, Sharqia, Egypt. He graduated from the faculty of engineering. He worked as a principal at the Najah Hammadi Industrial School, where he got to know Al-Rihani. He quit his job and focused on writing and acting. He's known for A Bullet to the Heart (1944), The Secret of Vanishing Cap (1959) and Nights of Love (1955).
