Egyptian actress Cariman Mohamed Salem was born in 1936 in Cairo. As a student at the French lycée, she performed in a production of “Caesar and Cleopatra” at the school’s theater. She participated in a children’s corner and joined a radio program by renowned broadcaster Baba Sharo, who praised her work. Because of her reluctance to appear in the public eye, little is known of her personal life. She is best known for her performance in a minor role as the villain in “Banat El Youm" (Girls Today) but later shied away from the limelight. She appeared in several other films including "Al-Fanous Al-Sehri" (The Magic Lamp) and "Nora" although she did not gain further recognition.
