Syrian actor and singer. He worked as a variety show director, and then decided to pursue singing, after his friends who listened to his voice advised him. He sang several songs before but his first major breakthrough was in 1966 with the composer Abdel Fattah Sukkar in songs like "Baburi Rayih", he then traveled to Jordan and produced some performance songs with his private group. In 1970, he went to Cairo and became the a star of the City Lights concerts. He participated in several patriotic songs.
