He wrote many novels, short story collections and translations, the most important of which are The lamp of Umm Hashim, The Postman, Tear and Smile, Blood and Mud, and Antar and Juliet. A number of his literary works were transformed into films, plays and series, the most important of which are The lamp of Umm Hashim, and The Postman.
