An Egyptian director and actor, who was born in 1939. He enrolled in the Higher Institute of Cinema, directing department. He worked at the beginning of his artistic life as an assistant director for a number of directors, including Youssef Chahine, Fatin Abdel Wahab and Hussein Kamal. He directed a number of documentary films, including Hanging Zahran (1966). He turned to acting and had a role in the film The Women’s Barber. He died of incurable disease in 1973.
