An Egyptian director and writer. He studied cinema by correspondence with a French institute then traveled to Paris to implement what he studied in practice, and specialized in directing in 1951. He began his career as a production manager on the film Women Are Devils (1947). His film For Love (1955) was the first Egyptian film to be screened in cinemascope. His directorial debut was the film It's All Yours (1952).
