An Egyptian screenwriter, art critic and screenwriting lecturer, who got a BA in Finance and Commerce in 1967, and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Higher Institute of Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts in 1976. He began working in The General Organization Of Culture Palaces in 1968, then on Kuwait TV from 1977 until 1986, after which he returned to work in the Organization Of Culture Palaces until 2006. He received several accolades, including the first prize at the 2nd Gulf Festival for the screenplay of the TV special Ashes, and a lifetime achievement certificate of appreciation from the Higher Institute of Art Criticism. He was a member of the Writers' Union, a member of the Film Syndicate, a member of the Egyptian Society of Film Critics and Writers, and a member of the Screenwriters Association. In 2013, he took over the General Secretariat of the Alexandria Film Festival.
