A Syrian actress and is the sister of actresses Mona Wassef and Ghada Wassef. She joined the Syrian Artists Syndicate in 1975. She entered the world of acting when she was fourteen, initially focusing all her activity on theatrical productions, and she presented plays such as Green Perfume and Soft Hands. With the beginning of television broadcasting in Syria in the mid-sixties, she appeared in several series, such as The Postman and Traveler Bird. After that she was cut off from artistic work for a period of fifteen years, devoted to raising her children. She began participating in the activities of the National Theatre, in which she performed in about six plays. After about ten years, she returned to the small screen in the series Warm Hearts. Her last appearances were in the two plays Rain Maker and The Little Bird. She has been married to actor Mahmoud Gabr and is the mother of actresses Laila and Marah.
