A Syrian actor and writer born in Ad Darbasiyah, Northeast Syria to a Kurdish family. He grew up in Aleppo and was one of the poets of the Literary Forum at the University of Aleppo in the eighties, and during that period he wrote articles and published his poems in Syrian and...Read more Arab newspapers and magazines, then moved to Damascus and worked in theater and television as an actor, writer and director. He began writing the daily column in the private newspaper Baladna for five consecutive years from 2006 until he stopped in 2011. In the same five years, he established a successful cultural project, the weekly “Bait Al Qasid Night” project in the basement of the Firdous Tower Hotel. From 1994 to 2008, he wrote six books of poetry and one book of short stories. He also hosted a radio show for the Syrian radio. Some of his credits include Al-Khawali, Al Zeir Salim, and Al Zaher Baibars.
