An Egyptian director, born on November 20, 1924. He graduated from the "Edek" Institute of Cinema in Paris in 1950 and at the Institute of Film at the Sorbonne University in Paris in 1952. In 1953, he co-founded the Film Culture Committee in the home of Emile Bahri with Saad...Read more Nadim, Salah El Tohamy and Kamel Youssef. He founded a production and distribution company in 1957. He started importing the Soviet film "The Mother", but censorship banned the show hours before the opening, and the company was closed. He has made important contributions to translating theatrical works, including plays by Chekhov and Brecht, Kafka and UNESCO. He also wrote serials for the radio about literary works. He directed the play The Western Land written by Mohamed Anani in 1964. In 1968, he and his brother Hassan founded the Al-Telmisani Brothers Company, the first Egyptian company specialized in the production of documentary films. From his works: Girls in Summer, Interview with the Devil and Ismail Yassine in the Police. He died on September 11, 2002.
