Egyptian singer and composer, born on January 7, 1922 in the village of Deir Barawa, Beni Suef. He decided to move to the capital, Cairo, when he was 22 years old in 1944, and he joined the Institute of Arab Music, and was officially approved as a singer by the Broadcasting Corporation in 1945, where he worked for 10 years. In 1968, he was appointed to the opera department and formed a musical group called "The Arab Music Ensemble" until he was referred to retirement in 1982, but he did not stop and continued his efforts in teaching for students of the Higher Institute of Arabic Music.
