A Palestinian actor, born on May 20, 1974, in Haifa. He studied at the Sisters of Nazareth School. He was mentored by director Edouard Khoury in his first play Paradise of Nothingness. He also participated in the play Doors written and directed by Khoury, which was a success among the audience. His breakthrough was at the age of 18, when he was chosen to present the famous children's program Amal and Kamal with Salma Khashibuon, with whom he formed a duo. That program, which was shown by Channel One on Israeli television, was an important phase in Ilyas' career as it got him working on television, and soon, he turned to theatrical work as Amal and Kamal got adapted into a theatrical form.
