Emma Thompson graduated in the year 1980. She first started working at the BBC (where she took part in several comedy productions). Following a brief period she took part in several television productions where she would (write and present for a program called (“Alfresco”). Thereafter, she progressed to the silver screen where she took part in comedy works to start with.


A British actress, born on April 15, 1959, in London. She studied English at Newnham College, Cambridge, where she joined the Footlights Dramatic Club. She started her career in plays, radio series and TV series. She starred in the British television variety series Thompson, then the films Dead Again, and Howards End, for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
