He is an American author born on August 4, 1965, in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He is widely known around the world, and many of his novels were adapted into films, including Mystic River (2003), Shutter Island (2010) and Live by Night (2016). He also received many international awards, including the Anthony Award and the Barry Award for Best Novel for Mystic River.
