Hancock’s screenwriting and directing debut took place in 1991 when he released the romantic comedy “Hard Time Romance”. Thereafter Hancock achieved considerable success working with sports dramas. His first foray into that genre was “The Rookie” which was a box office success in addition to being popular with the critics. His last such film, “The Blind Side”, was also a great success which won a number of awards including an Academy Award.
