He was born in Saudi Arabia. His father died when he was three years old, and he was raised an orphan, where he lived his childhood in an orphanage with a grant from King Faisal. He joined the Secondary Industrial Institute in Jeddah, obtained a diploma in shipbuilding, and worked at the beginning of his life in the post office. He began his artistic life as an amateur in the children's program (Baba Abbas) on Jeddah Radio in 1960 and worked as a choir chanter in the music department. He was discovered by the famous journalist and diplomat "Abbas Faeq Ghazzawi" and blessed this discovery by the late poet and writer "Taher Zamakhshari. He traveled to Beirut on his first artistic journey, and recorded a number of songs. He became a professional artist in 1964. He appeared for the first time on the Armco TV screen.
