Kutcher’s childhood was quite tough and he can be described as adventurous. He has held some temporary jobs in the past such as carpentering and other occupations related to (farm life). Kutcher enrolled in Washington Highschool, Cedar Rapids, Iowa for about one year. When his family relocated to (Tyfen), Iowa, (Kutcher transferred to Clear-Creek (?) Secondary school. Throughout this period, Kutcher’s family life was quite rough. Kutcher has commented, saying: (“I did not want to return home so as to hear more bad news about my brother,”) and (“I kept myself busy so that I would not get emotional.”) Kutcher has also admitted that he had considered suicide during his adolescent years and indeed, at 13, he tried to jump off a balcony at a hospital but his father (intervened and saved him at the last moment). (His parents were to get a divorce during those years). During his senior year at highschool, Kutcher and his cousin broke into his highschool at night in an attempt to steal money from the school. Kutcher was caught as he was leaving the scene and was charged with (third degree burglary). He was sentenced to three years of imprisonment under observation and 180 hours of community service. Kutcher (later described) this experience as one which caused him to (“rise up”). Due to the experience, Kutcher lost his girlfriend and the scholarship he was awarded by the college he was planning to attend. The incident also led to him being ostracized at school and (by society). Kutcher enrolled in the University of Iowa where he specialized in (biochemical engineering) (but he did not attain a degree). His motivation in choosing that specialization was to find a cure for his brother (who suffered from some sort of heart ailment). Kutcher has stated: (“I thought I knew everything when in fact I had no idea. I used to go out partying and on several occasions I would to find out about what I did only after waking up the next morning. I chose a very difficult route and I am surprised that I am not dead.”) Kutcher was a member of the (Delta Chi) fraternity. In order to earn enough money to cover his expenses, (Kutcher would spend his summers working at the (pills) section) of the General Mills (botanical) factory at Cedar Rapids. He would also occasionally donate blood for money. Whilst at university, Kutcher was noticed by a (scout) at a bar called (“The Airliner at Iowa City”) (at Iowa State). Thereby, Kutcher (joined the modeling competition) (“The New Faces in the state of Iowa”). After (achieving first place in the competition), Kutcher was awarded with a trip to New York (to attend a convention held there by the International Modeling and Talents Agency (IMTA)). Following his stay at New York, Ashton returned to his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa before moving to Los Angeles to (continue his work there). Kutcher worked as a (fashion model) before moving to Los Angeles after having encountered several successes in the world of modeling. (This was after he had assumed his first television role, the role of Michael Kelso in the television series “That 70s Show” which ran from 1998 until 2006). Kutcher also took part in several movies (and although he took part in a trial performance), he was not given the role of Dani Walker in “Pearl Harbor” (2001). Kutcher has taken part in several comedies which have met with a (great deal of success at the box office). Comedies such as (“Dude, where’s my car?”) (2000), (Only Married) (2003), and (“Guess Who”) (2005). In addition to these titles, Kutcher appeared in the family movie “Cheaper By the Dozen” where he played the role of a self-obsessed actor. Kutcher’s role in (“The Butterfly Effect”) (2004) was (unusually dramatic) for he assumed the character of a youth (who undergoes difficult circumstances) and falls in love with a girl named Kelly. Although the movie has received a mixed reception, it was nonetheless a (box office) success. Kutcher was nominated for the (leading role) in the movie (“Pearl Harbor”) but he failed the (mock trial) and the role was given to Josh Hartnet instead. In 2003, Kutcher (produced) and acted in his own series, MTV’s (“Punk’d”). Kutcher was the program’s host. The series involved several candid camera tricks that involved famous individuals. Kutcher is also (the executive producer) of the reality TV shows (“Beauty and House”), (“A Hollywood Adventure”) (which revolves around a group of burglars (?)), (“The Real Wedding Crashers”), as well as the game show (“Strikes of Chance”). (Kutcher has received the financing for much of his endeavors (including “Punk’d”) from (Catalyst Films) which is a production company that he manages with his (partner) Jason Goldberg). Due to a time clash that occurred with the filming of (“Guardian”), Kutcher was forced not to renew his contract for the eighth and final season of the series (“That 70s Show”). (This was despite the fact that he appeared in the first four episodes of the (season) (as a guest star) and returned in the final episodes of the series). Kutcher is part of the (Ooma) management team, a (website) which was launched in September of 2007. (The site works through sound protocols and Kutcher’s role is that of creative director). Kutcher leads a campaign to market and produce video cassettes that promote the service. (Kutcher has also excelled while working for the interactive section of Catalyst which is called (Catalyst Media)). (He has worked on this alongside his partner at (Catalyst Films), Jason Goldberg.
