Karan Johar is an Indian film director, producer and television celebrity who was born in Mumbai, India on the 2th of May, 1972. Karan’s father, Yash Johar, was also a Bollywood film producer. Karan attended H.R. College of Commerce and Economics and received his Masters degree in French. Karan works for Dharma Productions, a production company that was founded by his father. Karan’s first experience in Indian cinema was as an actor portraying Raj’s (Shahrukh Khan) close friend in “Diwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”. His directorial debut was the 1998 film “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” which won eight Filmfare Awards including those for Best Movie and Best Director. Since then Karan has been extremely successful as a director and has also had a number of acting roles. Karan Johar’s has had an impressive record thus far and is considered one of Bollywood’s most successful young filmmakers.
