Biography

Egyptian lyric poet, playwright and TV author and art critic, who was born in 1938 in the village of Ghar, Zagazig Center in Sharkia Governorate. He was the brother of Mohamed Negm. He worked as a mathematics teacher in French at Al-Hurriya Preparatory School in Azbakia in Cairo....Read more He also taught at the King Saud Anjal Institute. In Saudi Arabia, he wrote many plays including The Nights of the Storyteller. He wrote a number of songs, including "My Love" and "Sweet Sweet and Bitter Bitter". He also wrote several plays for the private sector, including The Lucky One (1987) and wrote many songs in most of Mohamed Negm's plays. He wrote the series And Love Returned, many programs, and radio series. He also worked as an art critic for Al Shorouk International newspaper. He died on September 24, 2017.
