An Egyptian journalist and writer who was born on October 14, 1939 in one of the villages of Dakahlia Governorate. He worked for Al-Gomhouria newspaper in the early seventies. He also participated in the founding and management of a number of newspapers and magazines, including Al-Kitab, National Culture, and Al-Yasar. He published his first book, "The Orabi Revolution" in 1979, and was followed by a number of important books in literature, history, and political writings, including: “Intellectuals and the Military,” “Tales from the Notebook of the Nation,”and “Riya and Sakina’s Men,”. He died on December 25, 2017, at the age of 78 after a struggle with illness.
