She is an American actress, writer, and presenter. She was born on December 8, 1964 in Palo Alto, California. She became a famous model and then shifted from the fashion world into acting. She is known for Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993-1997). She received numerous nominations and awards for her role in the TV series Desperate Housewives, including winning a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical in 2005.
