After finishing high school, Arnett decided not to attend university so he could travel to New York to start his career as a professional actor. For a decade, Arnett was not able to achieve success as an actor which drove him to alcohol abuse. Arnett decided to quit alcohol in order to marry the comedian actress (Amy Poehler) in 2003, and during the same year he was given the opportunity to participate in the TV series (Arrested Development) which gained him a lot of success and won him an Emmy Award.
