Josh Brolin is an American actor known for his roles in "The Goonies" (1985), "No Country for Old Men" (2007), "Milk" (2008), "True Grit" (2010), "Men in Black 3" (2012), and "W." (2008), in which he plays American President George W. Bush. Brolin was born on February 12, 1968 in Santa Monica, California, son of a wildlife activist and an renowned actor, James Brolin. He was raised on a California ranch. Though he did not get early exposure to acting via his father's career, Brolin became involved in improv during high school. He began getting small TV roles before landing the part as Brand Walsh in the cut '80s classic "The Goonies." Brolin was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Dan White in Gus Van Sant's arresting "Milk" about Harvey Milk, an assassinated Californian gay activist who in the late 1970s became the state's first openly gay elected official. Brolin split from his wife of eight years, actress Diane Lane, in 2013. Brolin's stepmother is legendary singer/actress Barbra Streisand.
