An American actress who is famous for her role in the television series Ugly Betty. She was born on July 4, 1987 in Guilford, Connecticut. She began performing musicals and plays in local theaters. She studied at University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with a BA in European History. Newton was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. After graduation, Newton moved to New York City and took on several roles in television commercials. She is best known for acting in P.S. (2005), Ugly Betty (2006), August Rush (2007), The Goodwin Games (2013) and Weird Loners (2015).
