Edward Fitzgerald Burns was born January 29, 1968, in Queens New York. He is an American actor, film producer, writer and director. He earned his degree in English from Hunter College in 1992. Following graduation, he started off as a production assistant on the Oliver Stone film, "The Doors." While working as a gofer on the TV show Entertainment Tonight, he financed, produced, directed and starred in his first film "The Brothers McMullen" in 1995. Burns is mostly known for his acting work in movies such as Saving Private Ryan, Life or Something Like It, and 27 Dresses. Burns is married to model Christy Turlington with whom he has two children, Grace and Finn.
