Egyptian writer, novelist, and journalist born in Sharqia Governorate on 25 October 1957. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts, at Zagazig University. He earned a master's degree and Ph.D. in literary criticism. He worked as a journalist in several publications. His works include the radio series Return Plane. He died on 5 March 2014 after a liver transplant in China.
