William Oliver Stone was born on September 15, 1946 in New York, USA. He is best known for the movies: Platoon (1986), Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and JFK (1991). His political movie Salvador (1986) was the reason for his fame as he was nominated for an Academy Award. Stone presented many works that varied between television and cinema, and he produced many of the films he wrote and directed. He won the Oscar three times.
