Billy Crudup is an American film and stage actor who was born in Manhasset, New York on the 8th of July, 1968. Crudup earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he also earned a Master’s of Fine Arts from New York University. One year after graduating from NYU, Crudup made his debut performance on Broadway as part of a production of Tom Stoppard’s “Arcadia”. Although Billy Crudup is well known for film roles such as those in “Almost Famous”, “Big Fish” and the English release of the animation “Princess Mononoke” he nonetheless devotes time regularly to stage appearances. Crudup’s stage performances have so far earned him two Tony Award nominations.
