An African-American actress born on August 17, 1977 in Tanzania. She spent her early years in refugee camps in Mozambique with thousands of young people who had fled the war in Rhodesia at that time. She moved to the United States, where her mother, Fai Chong, worked for the United Nations. She studied at Yale University and graduated with a double major in Theater Studies and Fine Art. She made her artistic debut in 2003. She co-starred in the movie Sunshine (2007), Camelot series (2011), and Proof (2005).
