An Irish actor, producer, and writer, born on May 25, 1976. He became famous for his role in the series Peaky Blinders as Thomas Shelby. He is also for his roles in The Dark Knight, Inception, Dunkirk, and A Quiet Place Part II.


Cillian Murphy is an Irish actor who was born in Cork, Ireland on May 25, 1976, where he got his education at Brothers College. He studied law at University College Cork, however he dropped out one year later. He first worked on many plays, including “Disco Pigs”. Murphy’s film breakthrough was his role in “28 Days Later”, which earned him nominations for “Best Newcomer” at the Empire Awards and “Breakthrough Performance” at the MTV Movie Awards. Murphy later got numerous supporting roles in prolific movies, such as “Cold Mountain”, “Batman Begins” and “Red Eye”. After many creepy performances, he was seen as an optimal bad guy, Manhola Dargis called him a “picture-perfect villain”, and David Denby described him as “seductive” and “sinister”. Although “Breakfast on Pluto” wasn’t a big box-office hit, Cillian was nominated for a Golden Globe for “Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical” and also won the “Best Actor” award in the “Irish Film and TV Academy Awards”. The Irishman reprized his role as the villain in “The Dark Knight”. Chris Nolan then chose him again to star in his movie “Inception” with Leonardo DiCaprio. To complete Chris Nolan’s trilogy, Murphy played the villain in the last part of the series in “The Dark Knight rises”.
