The brunette actress Angela Bassett was born in New York in 1958, but her actual upbringing was in Florida, where she graduated from Boca Sega High School in Gulfport, Florida in 1976. Her artistic career started with her appearance in the series F/X (1986). She is renowned for her role in What's Love Got to Do with It (1993).
