Tabu is an Indian actress who was born in Hyderabad in 1971. Her resume includes mostly Hindi films, though she has also appeared in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali language films. Her lead role in "The Namesake" (2006) earned her considerable attention and praise. She is best known for acting in low-budget, artsy films that garner more critical acclaim than commercial success. She is one of the most talented Indian actresses in her generation. In 2012, she starred in Ang Lee's celebrated epic "Life of Pi."
