Elizabeth Banks is an American actress, producer and director. She was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, a small town in the Berkshires, in February 1974. She attended the University of Pennsylvania, then went on to get her MFA at the American Conservatory Theater in 1998. She's best known for her roles as Effie in "The Hunger Games" (2012), Laura Bush in "W." (2008), as well turns in "Wet Hot American Summer" (2001), "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" (2005), "Role Models" (2008) and "Pitch Perfect" (2012). On NBC's celebrated "30 Rock" from writer/creator/star Tina Fey, Banks brilliantly plays Avery Jessup, a conservative news correspondent and the love interest of head honcho Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin). She's won two Emmy nominations for this role.
