French director, producer, and screenwriter born on 11 March 1960 in Antibes, Alpes-Maritimes, France. He specializes in horror and fantasy films. He attended IDHEC (Institute for Advanced Cinematographic Studies) in France. He founded the film magazine Starfix. His most notable works include Silent Hill (2004), Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001), and Beauty and the Beast (2014).
