American actress born on November 12, 1982 in Brooklyn, New York City. She started acting in 1999 in the TV series Get Real, but her real breakthrough was in the Disney movie The Princess Diaries (2001), after which she starred in numerous films, most notably The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Colossal (2016), and Rachel Getting Married (2008). She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Fantine in Les Misérables (2012).


Anne Hathaway is an American actress who first gained wide recognition for playing the fumbling tween turned princess Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries (2001), as well as in the 2004 sequel. Breaking with the innocent roles of her past, Hathaway's character in the critically acclaimed Brokeback Mountain (2005) had a racy sex scene with co-star Jake Gyllenhaal, with whom she later co-starred in Love and Other Drugs (2010). She also starred in The Devil Wears Prada (2006) with Meryl Streep and Becoming Jane (2007). She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Rachel Getting Married (2008). In 2012, she starred in The Dark Knight Rises as the fierce Cat Woman, and on the other side of the spectrum in Les Misérables as a tragically impoverished French factory worker.
