Philip Ridley is a British author and director, born on December 29, 1964 in London, England. He studied painting at St. Martin's School of Art and later went on to write stories and films. Among his literary works is the 1991 book Krindlekrax, which won the Smarties Prize for...Read more Children's Literature. His first play, The Pitchfork Disney, won an award at London's Bush Theater in 1991. In May 1992, his second play, The Fastest Clock In The Universe, opened at Hampstead Theatre, winning him the 1992 Critics' Circle Award for Promising Playwright. The film The Reflecting Skin (1990), which won eleven international awards, was voted as one of the ten best films of 1991.
