She is an American actress, born on March 10, 1958 in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Edinboro State University of Pennsylvania with a degree in creative writing and fine arts. She began her career as a model, after which she made her acting debut in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories (1980). She is known for Basic Instinct (1992), The Quick and the Dead (1995), and Sliver (1993). She won a Golden Globe for Best Actress for Casino (1995), for which she was also nominated for an Academy Award.
