Ciaran Hinds was born in Northern Ireland on the 9th of February 1953. His father was a doctor and hoped that Ciaran would follow his footsteps while his mother "Moya" was an amateur actress who encouraged him to become an actor. He made his first film debut in 1981 through the" Excalibur". Since then he continued presenting lots of remarkable roles such as Captain Frederick Wentworth in "Persuasion" (1995), Jonathan Reiss in "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life "(2003) additional to John Traynor in "Veronica Guerin" (2003). Moreover, in the 2006 film "Amazing Grace" he played the role of Sir Banastre Tarleton"and starred in "Margot at the Wedding" a drama-comedy about family secrets and relationships and in" There Will Be Blood "(2007). On the other hand, from his effective TV roles was portraying Richard McIlkenny, a Belfast man falsely imprisoned for an IRA bombing in "Who Bombed Birmingham? (1990). Afterwards, he appeared through many Episodes like : "Prime Suspect3" (1993)," Cold Lazarus" (1996), Jane Eyre (1997) and "Ivanhoe "(1997) and "Broken Morning" (2003). In 2004 he received the Irish Film and Television Award for Best Actor in series "The Mayor of Casterbridge" and in 2006 he participated starring "Rome" ,"The Red Dahlia" (2010), "Deadly Intent" (2011) and" Silent Scream" (2012).Currently he appeared in 2012 thriller movie " Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" as Roarke the devil who controls "Johnny Blaze".
